Developer David Simpson introduced the latest version of his FmPro Migrator software at the RunRevLive.14 conference in San Diego, which is taking place this week. The software is designed to convert FileMaker data to the LiveCode programming language, and the new version features expanded functionality and versatility. FmPro Migrator 7.34 is optimized for LiveCode 7, the latest edition of the app-creating language, whose open source version came about after a successful Kickstarter campaign that began in 2013. The last three versions of FileMaker Pro (11, 12 and 13) are all compatible.
FmPro Migrator 7.34 will allow developers to work on two layers simultaneously, and it has also introduced, among other new features, more accurate drawing of objects. Databases can be saved as Excel and PDF files. Simpson said of the new platform and software, "Realizing the importance of the LiveCode 7 development cycle, I have been diligently testing FmPro Migrator with LiveCode 7 releases since early 2014. My app now looks razor sharp on Mac OS X and Windows Hi-DPI displays, improving the professional look of FmPro Migrator."
Indeed, it is professionals who stand to benefit the most from the use of FileMaker for their business goals. A FileMaker database is the best tool to collate and keep track of all the information a business needs, from its internal organizational details to sales data. Certified FileMaker developers can create such databases for businesses of all sizes, allowing them to analyze all pertinent statistics.
Other companies may choose to work on their own databases, making FileMaker training the best option for them. Licensed trainers can teach a company's employees how to create and maintain their own databases, giving their enterprises immediate access to their information, and a significant leg up on the competition.
