It has been less than 24 hours since the rumor of a September 10 press event from Apple hit the web and already there is "confirmation" of what the tech giant has up its sleeves. Yesterday, we presented a wish list of sorts that hit on much of the speculation over the last year, but now it seems there are a handful that have garnered major headlines.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the event will focus on one product line—the iPhone. The articles information comes from "a person familiar with the plans." What this new model will look like is anyone's guess, but tradition would speak to a thinner version with a better processor and retina display.
With the iPhone getting all the attention, smart money is that a reveal of a "low cost" version of the smartphone would also take place during that event if it is going to happen before the end of the year.
The tipster goes on to say that the iPad and iPad Mini will be addressed later in the year, in time for the holiday shopping season. The devices will be slimmed down and feature high-resolution screens. This will be an important move as these mobile devices accounted for 70 percent of Apple's sales last quarter and will be front and center during the holidays.
"To drive growth you need to have that next iPhone and iPad refreshed," Brian Marshall, an analyst at ISI Group in San Francisco, told the news source.
The next few weeks will be rampant with speculation and "exclusive inside information," making it easy to get caught up. However, companies would be wise to instead partner with an IT consulting firm that specializes in Apple products if they want to be in the best position to take advantage of them.
